I'll take you to the Philippines...

My recent vacation just last June 4-14 made me appreciate my homeland once again.

I was with my relatives from the US and UK and they were in a "culture shock" the moment they stepped foot in Phil.

I think what shocked them the most was how our drivers do their thing on our public roads. Speeding, overtaking, crisscrossing from one lane to another, and etcetera...

Well I must admit its quite scary - the confidence of our drivers in terms of their skills.

I was torn between shame and humor...because its a bit funny to me to see their reactions.

Our country has...Government flaws? Given. Pasaway People. Given.

But there are lots of things to be proud of our country than these stuff.

Like?

BORACAY!


It may not encompass a huge percentage of positive Philippines but coming back to Boracay on off-peak season, less people, and blessed with sunny weather in June...it made me realized that I'm lucky I have Boracay in my country.











Pristine sand, blue-green clear water, the sun, and the people. Its a little United Nations in there. So many people from around the globe fell in love with Bora's natural beauty and the lifestyle.


It would be advisable to stay at a beach front hotel because you can see the view of the shore from your room or from the buffet table and you can just walk in seconds to reach the Bora water. And if its meal time, you won't go wrong if you try one of the many sea-side buffet dinner lined up from Station 1 to 3 of Bora.








Don't get conscious about body weight because of all the rice, grilled meat, and freshly grilled oysters you ate. You can still wear a bikini with your protruding tummy, people won't care, and people won't tease. As one of my cousins said, "There's always someone who's better than you, and there's always worse than you." So flaun it. Fearlessly.

Its Bora, why waste the sun, sand, and the sea by covering in Capri and t-shirt?



Though most people say Boracay is overrated, I think it has not lost its charms. In fact, there are still so many things left to be discovered.


Next time, lets aim for a tat.
